Ang Sang Waaheguru: DivinePresence in Every Cell

"Ang Sang Waaheguru" is a Sikh mantra meaning "In every cell and fiber is the miracle of the Divine." Snatam Kaur teaches that this chant counters isolation and self-aversion by reconnecting practitioners to universal divine flow, replacing self-doubt with awareness of God's presence within and around all beings. The practice involves repetition, breath work, and yoga postures designed to embody the mantra's consciousness rather than merely believe it intellectually.

What Does "Ang Sang Waaheguru" Mean?

The mantra breaks down into distinct Sanskrit and Punjabi roots. "Ang" translates as the limb or every limb; "Sang" means "with"; "Waah" is the experience of God; "Guru" is wisdom. Together, the phrase asserts that the celebration of God—the dance of divine presence—lives within every cell and fiber of one's being, as well as in every being one encounters and in all of creation. This is not poetic metaphor but a direct claim about consciousness: that isolation is an illusion born from ego and self-aversion, and that connection to the universal flow of divine intelligence is our actual condition.

How Does the "Aversion Self" Create Suffering?

Snatam Kaur identifies a distinct mode of consciousness she calls the "aversion self." This is the state in which we contract into blame, shame, and self-doubt. The aversion self produces thoughts like "I'm so stupid," "I've made so many mistakes," "there's no hope for me." Deeper still, the aversion self generates the feeling that we are isolated and responsible for outcomes that depend on forces far beyond our control. A parent might spiral: "If I fail, my daughter's failure is my fault; the whole ship sinks because of me." This consciousness splits the self from the universal flow and roots us in ego—either grandiose ego that inflates our importance, or ego collapsed into shame.

The teaching here is precise: these negative self-judgments are not primarily failures of self-esteem or positive thinking. They stem from the felt sense of being severed from the divine presence that actually animates all things. When you believe you are alone and responsible for everything, blame and despair naturally follow.

How Can the Mantra Shift Self-Doubt in Real Time?

Rather than dismiss negative thoughts, the mantra offers a direct intervention. When a self-doubt arises—"I can't do this," "I'm a failure," "I'm afraid"—the practice is to add the mantra: "I can't do this, but Ang Sang Waaheguru." The phrase does not deny the difficulty or fear. Instead, it recontextualizes it. The weight lifts because the responsibility shifts from an isolated self to the universal flow of divine intelligence. "Let it be God's flow," Snatam teaches. "Let it be God's issue. Let the weight go."

This works psychologically and spiritually. Psychologically, it creates cognitive distance from the thought, preventing fusion with the identity of failure. Spiritually, it reconnects the nervous system to the experience of being held within something greater. The mantra does not require belief. Snatam explicitly invites practitioners to "pretend to believe it" at first. Through repetition—chanting every day, on every breath—the pretense gradually becomes lived experience. "Whether you believe it or not at first," she says, "perhaps from pretending, the experience will sink in."

What Is the Role of Humility in Practicing the Mantra?

Before chanting Ang Sang Waaheguru, practitioners chant an invocation from Guru Arjan, the fifth Guru of the Sikhs: "The Divine is in every cell and fiber and the honor of the devote is protected. [The one] who has grasped the feet of the Divine and has found peace day and night."

The metaphor of grasping the feet of the Divine is the action of surrendering ego and agenda. Snatam describes it as an emptiness: taking a deep breath, inhaling fully, then exhaling and letting go of "all the agendas, the eyes, the egos, the 'I shoulds,' 'I'm going,' 'I'm doing,' 'I'm this,' 'I'm that.'" This emptying is the grasping—the relinquishment that makes peace possible.

Importantly, this peace is not a one-time state. It is not achieved by chanting the mantra once at the beginning of the day and then remaining set for life. Rather, it is "a process of every breath." Each inhalation and exhalation is an opportunity to return to that emptiness, to let go, to grasp the feet of the Divine anew. The practice is perpetual, moment by moment.

How Does Repetition Embed the Consciousness of the Mantra?

Snatam distinguishes between intellectual belief and embodied conviction. Many people may not believe that "God is within every cell and fiber of my being." The mind may resist. But the practice does not depend on belief. Through chanting—through the repetition of the mantra—practitioners "imbibe that consciousness" or, as she phrases it, "convince ourselves of the consciousness." The verb "convince" here is key: it means to sell oneself on an idea through repeated exposure and lived experience.

The mechanism is not willpower or self-talk. It is the vibrational and neurological impact of chanting itself. Sound carries frequency. Repetition creates neural pathways. Over time, the boundary between pretending and experiencing collapses. "Perhaps one day," Snatam says, "it can happen in the flash of a second that you may believe." The belief may arrive suddenly, but it is built through consistent practice.

What Is the Connection Between Mantra and Yoga Posture?

The workshop includes physical practice alongside chanting. Practitioners move through yoga postures with specific arm and hand positions, often holding breath while seated upright with a straight spine. The coordination of breath, sound, and posture integrates the mantra into the body's energetic system. This is not incidental. In Kundalini Yoga and Sikh mantra tradition, the body is not separate from consciousness; it is consciousness made manifest. Holding a posture while chanting anchors the mantra in the physical system, making the abstract concept of "divine presence in every cell" a tangible, felt experience.

How Does This Practice Address Modern Isolation and Polarization?

Snatam explicitly frames Ang Sang Waaheguru as a response to "challenging, polarized times." In periods of social fragmentation, people retreat into self-protective narratives. The aversion self becomes hypervigilant: "Will they reject me? Will I be blamed? Can I trust anyone?" The mantra directly counters this by asserting that division is illusion and that the truth of existence is interconnection. By recognizing "the one" in every cell and fiber—in every being—the chanter moves from us-versus-them consciousness into a unified field.

Practically, this shifts behavior. If you are speaking with someone you disagree with, and you recognize Ang Sang Waaheguru—the divine dance—in them as well as in yourself, the conversation becomes less adversarial. You are no longer locked in a zero-sum battle between separate selves. You are meeting consciousness recognizing itself.

What Are the Stated Benefits of This Practice?

According to Snatam's teaching, Ang Sang Waaheguru strengthens "our ability to tap into God's expansive presence within," which in turn fortifies:

  • Inner peace: The release of self-blame and isolation naturally calms the nervous system.
  • Resilience: When difficulty arises, practitioners have a lived practice for letting the weight go and leaning into the universal flow.
  • Self-sufficiency: Paradoxically, connection to the divine makes one less dependent on external validation or control, because one's fundamental well-being is anchored in something greater.
  • Courage: Fear loses its grip when you stop feeling alone and responsible for outcomes.
  • Counter to loneliness: The mantra's central message is that you are never truly alone; the divine is present in every fiber.

Where to Go From Here

The practice of Ang Sang Waaheguru is accessible to anyone. Begin by learning the phrase: "Ang Sang Waaheguru." Notice the next time a self-doubt or fear arises—"I can't do this," "I'm not good enough," "I'm afraid." Rather than fighting the thought, add the mantra: "I can't do this, but Ang Sang Waaheguru." Feel the shift in energy as responsibility moves from an isolated self to the universal flow.

If you wish to deepen the practice, commit to chanting the mantra daily. This can be done alone, aloud or internally, or with others in kirtan (call-and-response chanting). Snatam Kaur has released a studio version of the mantra as part of her Mantra and Meditation Series and on the album Nirankaar. Live and recorded workshops are available through Kirtan and Kundalini, the online school she co-founded with her husband Sopurkh Singh.

Most importantly, understand that this is not a belief system to adopt but a practice to inhabit. You do not need to believe that God is in every cell right now. You need only be willing to pretend, to chant, to let the repetition do its work. The experience of Ang Sang Waaheguru—the felt sense of divine presence within and around you—may come gradually or in a sudden flash. Either way, it is available to anyone willing to sing.

[1:02] by tuning in and the tuning in Mantra

[1:06] is nam gur

[1:10] Nam and this is just a way to set

[1:13] ourselves to be present so on is the

[1:18] Divine energy of the universe within me

[1:21] within all beings Nam Mo I bow to that

[1:57] straight

[1:59] spine um even on your sit

[2:03] bones you can slightly tuck your chin in

[2:06] so there's a nice straight line from the

[2:08] base of the spine to the top of the

[2:13] head we'll chant each Mantra three times

[2:17] so if you haven't already close your

[2:21] eyes and let's inhale to

[2:25] begin oh

[2:30] [Music]

[2:40] G

[2:44] [Music]

[2:47] no

[2:51] [Music]

[2:52] oh

[2:58] now goodu

[3:05] day

[3:07] [Music]

[3:11] now

[3:17] oh

[3:20] [Music]

[3:23] now good day

[3:38] [Music]

[3:55] s

[3:59] [Music]

[4:18] you can relax the hands

[4:28] down so today we're going to be chanting

[4:33] resonating celebrating the Mantra

[4:37] [Music]

[4:38] anguru and this Mantra

[4:41] means Ang means the limb or every limb

[4:46] of and s means with so Ang wuru wuru is

[4:55] the experience of God wah wow hey Here

[4:59] and Now Guru

[5:01] wisdom and so this experience of God

[5:05] this dance of

[5:07] God um the celebration of

[5:10] God is within every cell and fiber of my

[5:15] being is really what this Mantra means

[5:18] in every cell and fiber of every being

[5:22] that I come in contact with with um

[5:26] every cell and fiber of this creation

[5:31] so it's a way to walk in this awareness

[5:34] of the

[5:37] one um and it's

[5:42] powerful um all too

[5:46] often

[5:47] um we we get caught in the

[5:52] self um the aversion self I'll call it

[5:58] um where we feel I isolated where we

[6:01] feel

[6:02] alone

[6:04] um and within this kind of aversion self

[6:08] we uh come up with things

[6:11] like

[6:14] um oh I'm so I'm so stupid I'm so

[6:17] terrible I've made so many mistakes oh

[6:19] there's no hope for me oh you know all

[6:23] of these kinds of thoughts really have

[6:25] to do so much with the feel feeling of

[6:30] isolation the feeling of like well um

[6:35] I'm it this is it it's all my

[6:38] fault um or or uh if I don't if I don't

[6:44] come through you know then the the whole

[6:47] ship is going to sink my it's going to

[6:50] be my fault if you know um something my

[6:56] daughter

[6:57] does um is is something that I consider

[7:00] a failure you know all it just goes on

[7:03] and on where the aversion either were

[7:06] taking

[7:07] um the you know holding ourselves in ego

[7:11] and in blame or we're holding ourselves

[7:14] in ego and

[7:16] shame and um so the angang

[7:21] wuru allows us

[7:24] to

[7:26] take the aversion out of it it and to

[7:31] take the isolation out of it and to

[7:35] connect ourselves with the universal

[7:38] flow of the

[7:41] Divine um and this is

[7:44] powerful and it's

[7:46] important so you can kind of say you

[7:50] know next time you have like a

[7:53] negative

[7:55] Self Doubt

[7:57] thought um

[8:00] oh I'm so

[8:03] stupid you say then you can add on to it

[8:06] but anung wah

[8:11] heo it totally shifts the whole thing I

[8:13] really love it I don't know if you can

[8:16] kind of like get it or experience now

[8:18] but just you know try it out

[8:22] um I don't know what's another kind of

[8:25] self aversion thought anybody have any

[8:27] you want to volunteer

[8:35] any kind of self-doubt thought that came

[8:38] up for you in the last 24

[8:50] hours does it work on

[8:52] fear yeah

[8:55] yeah so what would what would you say

[9:01] I'm afraid I don't dare I can't

[9:06] un I'm so afraid is that what would you

[9:10] say

[9:17] that

[9:18] um could you repeat that again oh yes

[9:22] I'm I'm

[9:24] afraid um I

[9:27] can't yeah I I I just I can't do this

[9:32] I'm I'm a failure

[9:37] but it kind of like takes off the the

[9:42] weight um let's

[9:46] say um I'm just I'm not good enough I

[9:50] can't do

[9:52] it

[9:55] [Music]

[9:57] but why not like let let it be God's

[10:01] flow let it be God's issue go let it be

[10:04] God's problem let the let the weight of

[10:08] it you know all

[10:10] go

[10:13] um you know I I don't know if I can do

[10:17] this I don't know if I I'm

[10:19] capable

[10:26] but try it out just see how it kind of

[10:29] shifts

[10:30] energy um I can't I can't trust this

[10:34] situation I can't trust

[10:37] myself

[10:43] but for me it kind of it shifts the

[10:47] energy and takes me out of this kind of

[10:51] isolated selft talk self-doubt into a

[10:57] connective reality which which is the

[11:01] reality that

[11:02] we um are one with this Universal flow

[11:07] of divine

[11:10] intelligence so we can kind of lean in

[11:13] lean on that's how I look at

[11:16] anangu so let's take a few moments to

[11:20] chant um just chanting before we do

[11:23] anything else would you mind pulling up

[11:25] the words please

[11:36] all right and we'll start off with this

[11:39] invocation

[11:47] Ang the Divine is in every cell and

[11:50] fiber and the honor of the devote is

[11:55] protected wow that feels good right we

[11:58] can just rest in

[12:02] [Music]

[12:05] that has grasped the feet of the Divine

[12:10] and has found peace day and

[12:13] night so this invocation is by Guru

[12:16] arjin the fifth Guru of the seeks and I

[12:19] like to chant it um to come into that

[12:24] place of

[12:30] the first Guru of the seeks teaches us

[12:32] to grasp the feet of the

[12:36] Divine

[12:39] to bring yourself into a state of

[12:43] humility and that's the the action of

[12:47] grasping for the feet of of the Divine

[12:51] is bringing ourselves into humility in

[12:54] relationship to the

[12:56] Divine and then

[12:59] when we rest in this Consciousness then

[13:03] suat then we can experience peace day

[13:08] and night so how do we come into a place

[13:12] of humility with the

[13:16] Divine

[13:18] well to me it's an

[13:21] emptiness it's um when you're taking a

[13:24] deep breath and you

[13:26] inhale and then you exhale

[13:30] and you let go of all the agendas the

[13:33] eyes the egos the I shoulds I'm going

[13:36] I'm doing I'm this I'm that you let

[13:40] go to me that's grasping for the

[13:43] grasping the feet of the Divine Letting

[13:47] Go becoming empty and then suap payo

[13:51] dinat day and night I'm filled with

[13:55] peace it doesn't mean you chant anung

[13:59] wuru once at the beginning of the

[14:02] day and then you're set for your life

[14:05] it's a

[14:06] process of every

[14:09] breath and this the Mantra then we chant

[14:12] anang Wu gives us

[14:14] a state of

[14:17] consciousness that we chant and through

[14:19] the chanting

[14:21] we embibe that Consciousness or we

[14:25] convince ourselves of the Consciousness

[14:28] we we we

[14:30] sell we we sell ourselves on this idea

[14:33] anung W may not believe it at first and

[14:36] you may not believe it

[14:38] now God is within every cell and fiber

[14:41] of my being and there's a celebration of

[14:43] that you may not believe that but I

[14:46] invite you to pretend to believe it and

[14:49] then from that pretending perhaps the

[14:52] experience will sink in and then rep

[14:57] repetition repetition of chanting every

[14:59] day perhaps one

[15:01] day and I believe it it can happen in

[15:04] the flash

[15:05] of um a second that you may

[15:14] believe for

[15:16] now whether you believe it or not let's

[15:19] chant it

[28:11] and within the flash of a second or the

[28:15] swish of a donkey's tail however you

[28:18] like to think about it you can come into

[28:21] that empty

[28:23] space and that empty space is really the

[28:26] doorway to anung wife

[28:30] Guru so you can do that here in this

[28:33] posture so any thoughts or

[28:37] agendas

[28:41] um really not so much needed at this

[28:44] time so it really becomes a self

[28:46] aversion so you can just be here in this

[28:49] yoga exercise in this posture in

[28:53] yourself and you

[28:56] have my permission

[29:00] and I hope you gave yourself permission

[29:02] to come into an empty

[29:07] emptiness all you're doing is holding

[29:09] the posture and

[29:27] breathing now on the last last minute

[29:29] let's perfect the

[29:32] posture perfecting in the sense of hey

[29:35] let's relax a little bit relax the

[29:38] shoulders

[29:39] feel the energy of the posture rising

[29:42] from the base of the spine connect with

[29:45] that base of the spine if the arms are

[29:48] hurting that's natural and keep up as

[29:52] best as you can without bringing

[29:54] yourself into injury but you can tune

[29:57] into the

[29:59] muscle

[30:00] ache as it is stimulating the glandular

[30:03] system and the nervous system it's

[30:05] really quite beautiful actually so do

[30:07] try and keep the arms up if you

[30:16] can all right now please

[30:21] inhale and slowly bring the thumb tips

[30:24] together overhead

[30:27] and and keep the thumb tips together

[30:30] breath held in you can raise the fingers

[30:34] up and now keeping this posture please

[30:39] exhale hold the breath out and pull up

[30:43] on the panum

[30:48] floor pull up and in on the navl and the

[30:54] sex organ bringing the energy up the

[30:56] spine just for a few more seconds and

[31:00] then

[31:01] release inhale and then exhale sweep the

[31:05] arms down through your oric

[31:10] field and let's take a few moments to

[31:13] Just Breathe coming into that empty

[31:17] space again what's fun is we can come

[31:20] into the empty

[31:22] space when we're in movement and when

[31:25] we're in Stillness and both are are

[31:28] important and both are effective

[32:00] all right let's inhale

[32:03] together exhale taking those beautiful

[32:06] hands of yours place them on your

[32:09] shins sitting in Easy pose here we're

[32:13] going to inhale spinal Flex

[32:15] forward pull the shoulders back and then

[32:19] exhale slumping this line This spine

[32:23] back inhale forward Rock the pelvis

[32:26] forward exhale back Rock the pelvis back

[32:30] now keeping the chin nice and level so

[32:33] the chin isn't moving we're going to

[32:35] focus the movement instead on the spine

[32:38] so you keep the the chin level and that

[32:41] will help us to do that inhaling forward

[32:45] exhaling back

[33:02] and come into the sensation of the

[33:05] breath just tuning in and listening to

[33:08] your own breath listening to the

[33:15] Quality can you make your breath

[33:20] Fuller how does your being feel right

[33:23] now at this time and in this movement

[33:28] is there a way

[33:29] to create more presence within your

[33:32] movement and can you increase the pace

[33:35] of the

[33:38] movement are you doing it with selflove

[33:42] and

[33:47] awareness and if you haven't done so

[33:49] already let's do increase the space and

[33:53] increase the

[33:54] pace of the movement bringing some fire

[33:57] into the base of the spine

[34:37] let's really

[34:38] [Music]

[34:39] move and now bring in the Mantra angang

[34:43] wuru into the movement however it flows

[34:47] for

[34:55] you I have a beautiful friend whenever I

[34:58] would ask him how he was doing he would

[35:14] say can you allow the flow of the

[35:18] Divine to be how you are doing

[35:32] why not wonderful let's inhale stretch

[35:37] forward reach the shoulders back and

[35:40] then exhale neutralize the spine take a

[35:43] few moments to breathe

[35:55] here okay beautiful

[35:58] now please bring your hands onto your

[36:01] shoulders fingers will be in front

[36:04] thumbs and

[36:07] back and the forearms are nice and

[36:12] parallel and perpendicular to your torso

[36:17] we're going to inhale twist left twist

[36:20] the whole torso left exhale twist the

[36:24] whole torso right and really just

[36:29] move and

[36:36] enjoy we're doing a lot in this set to

[36:40] serve the

[36:43] spine and the spine holds so

[36:49] much so much

[36:52] possibility for us to uplift

[36:55] ourselves for us to live in

[36:58] Health in every aspect of

[37:05] health so really as you

[37:08] move tune into this spinal

[37:27] colon e

[38:09] and you can incorporate angang Wahu into

[38:13] the movement however you want to that's

[38:15] the fun

[38:17] part however you want

[38:21] to maybe it's

[38:28] something let's bring it into our

[38:30] awareness

[39:15] this is a major gift that we have angang

[39:19] Wahu tuning

[39:21] in within every cell and fiber of my

[39:24] being is the celebration of the Divine

[39:30] please inhale to the

[39:34] center hold this breath suspend the

[39:37] breath feel

[39:40] angah

[39:43] Guru and then exhale relax the arms down

[39:48] and take a moment to breathe

[40:15] somebody asked me once can you transform

[40:18] your

[40:21] pains

[40:24] into gifts

[40:29] and I

[40:31] feel that

[40:33] no the pain is the pain the gifts are

[40:36] the

[40:38] gifts and we can learn we can grow we

[40:41] can understand from the

[40:43] pain how to live in our Consciousness

[40:47] so yeah that's a gift but

[40:50] really our gifts are our gifts our gifts

[40:53] are our what where we can bring our

[40:57] attention ition

[40:58] to our gratitude for who we are and all

[41:02] of the gifts and all of the wonderful

[41:05] beautiful

[41:06] things and we can amplify those gifts we

[41:10] can amplify

[41:12] self-love Joy light we can spend time in

[41:19] it and this allows us to live our life

[41:23] by the

[41:25] gifts by the vibration of the gift

[41:28] gifts so angang wuru um is very helpful

[41:33] into tuning into the

[41:39] gifts please please breathe this

[41:43] awareness into your

[41:46] being the

[41:48] Divine is dancing living and

[41:51] breathing within every cell and fiber of

[41:54] my being

[42:16] and let's inhale deeply

[42:18] together exhale

[42:20] completely and stretch both legs out in

[42:23] front of you

[42:30] we're going to do a life nerve stretch

[42:31] so you can reach for your knees your

[42:33] shins or your toes whatever is going to

[42:36] work for

[42:37] you and you're going to

[42:40] inhale in the upward position exhale and

[42:45] lower the Torso down towards the thighs

[43:00] and one of the most powerful ways to

[43:03] give energy to the

[43:05] spine and to bring energy to your

[43:07] meditative experience is to stimulate

[43:10] the life nerve which runs from the base

[43:12] of the spine to the tips of the toes

[43:14] which is what we're stretching right

[43:18] now so feel that stretch and move

[43:30] it's kind of like telling the soil how a

[43:35] gardener would bring air into the

[43:41] soil before planting the

[43:43] seed that that's a very wise thing to do

[43:46] so we're bringing air we're bringing

[43:49] blood flow into this life

[43:52] nerve now I invite you to with a

[43:55] movement to incorporate Ang

[43:59] wuru

[44:03] anguru within every cell and fiber of my

[44:07] being sung with wuru is the

[44:11] experience of the Divine living dancing

[44:26] breathing

[44:56] e e

[45:29] okay inhale stretch up

[45:37] please and then exhale hold the breath

[45:41] out

[45:43] briefly hold the breath out exhale

[45:46] completely and hold the breath

[45:53] out and release

[45:57] breathing

[45:59] normally yeah you can kind of massage

[46:01] the legs shake the legs out a little

[46:05] bit all right now we're going to

[46:10] do um this exercise where you're going

[46:14] to sit on your left heel and for me

[46:18] personally I like to put a pillow

[46:20] between my heel and the

[46:24] pennium really what you want to do is

[46:27] get the perenium um stimulated by your

[46:30] heel send the in the best to have the

[46:33] heel straight up as opposed to being to

[46:36] the side anyway do the best that you

[46:41] can and you're going to then pull neck

[46:45] lock in this posture just and that's

[46:48] just slightly tucking the chin

[46:52] in okay so slightly tucking the chin in

[46:56] and then you

[46:58] you

[47:00] um we'll

[47:02] begin um some a long deep

[47:09] breath inhaling up exhaling down and

[47:13] then pull yourself down towards your

[47:16] bring the Torso towards your leg and

[47:18] begin a Breath of Fire rapid breath

[47:21] through the nose

[47:35] and you're bringing yourself down but

[47:38] keeping that

[47:40] slight chin

[47:42] lock and this really creates a nice

[47:46] power

[47:48] flow of

[47:50] stimulation with the heel

[47:53] stimulating the spine through the

[47:55] pennium the chin lock completing that

[48:00] circuit and then the energy of your H

[48:03] arms moving towards

[48:05] your toes and then from the toes up on

[48:09] up back

[48:52] I guess I said it wrong

[48:55] panum your pelvic floor

[48:58] heel is up against the pelvic floor as

[49:00] best as you can now inhale please in

[49:03] this

[49:05] position and exhale all the breath

[49:09] out and give one final stretch as best

[49:12] as you

[49:15] can and inhale up

[49:18] relax and then switch

[49:22] sides so if you're sitting on the left

[49:25] heel then now you'll sit on the right

[49:29] heel again whatever props and pillows

[49:32] you need please go ahead and utilize

[49:36] them nice little chin lock chin slightly

[49:40] tucked in reaching for your knees your

[49:42] shins your toes and begin a Breath of

[49:46] Fire

[50:27] e

[51:15] wonderful inhale

[51:17] please and then exhale hold a breath out

[51:22] stretch stretch stretch

[51:29] wonderful

[51:31] inhale come on up and out of the

[51:34] posture and let's stretch both legs out

[51:38] to either side now

[51:57] s wuru the

[51:59] Divine dancing living and breathing in

[52:02] every cell and fiber of my

[52:05] being with your hands on your shins your

[52:08] knees or your toes we going to inhale up

[52:12] in this Central position exhale bring

[52:15] the Torso down towards the right

[52:19] knee inhale up exhale to the left

[52:26] knee e

[53:09] with this consciousness of

[53:13] anguru really

[53:15] just expanding the consciousness

[53:20] of all right who's on my team here who's

[53:23] here to help out you know and you got

[53:26] this s why you got this incredible

[53:29] energy of the Divine living dancing and

[53:32] breathing within every cell and fiber of

[53:34] your being

[53:37] wow or let's say you kind of slipped up

[53:41] and lost your temper

[53:44] ah lost my temper oh

[53:49] God so sorry about

[53:53] that then you can you can talk to God

[53:56] and say look

[53:58] you're within me you're flowing within

[54:03] me please help me help me to come

[54:05] through help me to come to my

[54:17] Consciousness help me to find

[54:19] forgiveness help me to find the

[54:21] righteous action

[54:24] [Music]

[54:27] becomes a very personal connection and

[54:30] relationship to the

[54:45] divine all right now I want you to

[54:48] inhale up in the

[54:50] center and then exhale down in the

[54:53] center and inhale back up again for

[55:43] it's amazing in my life when I call on

[55:45] the Divine

[55:48] how the Divine comes

[55:50] through may not be just right when I

[55:54] intellectually want it

[55:57] but it always always comes so I invite

[56:00] you to call upon the energy of the

[56:04] Divine through the Mantra

[56:11] anguru all right that's it we're going

[56:14] to inhale up in the center now exhale

[56:17] down in the center and give yourself a

[56:19] good

[56:24] stretch holding the breath

[56:27] out well that's powerful

[56:30] too and then come on

[56:35] up

[56:39] beautiful all

[56:44] right now please transition yourself

[56:49] onto lying onto your belly

[57:05] and hands will be by the

[57:07] shoulders you're going to gently push up

[57:11] into Cobra pose heels are together if

[57:16] possible you can rest on your forearms

[57:20] there and begin a breath of fire please

[57:23] a rapid breath through the

[57:25] nose for

[58:21] and I love to think about in Cobra pose

[58:24] how we're stretching the chest open and

[58:27] how the chest is the heart region and

[58:30] how the heart when we live from the

[58:32] heart it's it's

[58:36] courage opening that

[58:42] heart last few

[58:49] seconds please

[58:54] inhale keep in the posture

[58:57] exhale pull up on the pelvic floor pull

[59:01] in and up on the navl and the sex organ

[59:04] pulling the energy up the spine with the

[59:06] breath held

[59:09] out and

[59:11] inhale and slowly lower the Torso down

[59:15] you can relax you can put a cheek to the

[59:18] side create a pillow with your hands if

[59:20] you like

[59:42] and let's bring the Hands by the

[59:44] shoulders

[59:46] please and you're going

[59:49] to gently push your buttock back towards

[59:53] your heels stretching the arms forward

[59:56] give your low lower back and I stretch

[59:58] forehead to the ground just for a

[1:00:09] moment and then transition come up into

[1:00:12] a sitting

[1:00:16] posture and we'll be in Easy

[1:00:22] pose have your hands on

[1:00:24] your knees and inhale shrug the

[1:00:28] shoulders up exhale

[1:00:55] down e

[1:01:33] and inhale squeeze the shoulders up to

[1:01:36] the

[1:01:36] [Music]

[1:01:38] ears and exhale

[1:01:41] relax oh

[1:01:44] nice all right now gently drop the chin

[1:01:49] towards the

[1:01:51] chest now inhale bring roll the right

[1:01:54] ear to the right shoulder

[1:01:58] and then the back of the head to the

[1:01:59] upper back and then exhale as you bring

[1:02:02] your left ear to your left shoulder

[1:02:04] continue your breath

[1:02:09] cycle and continue the mo

[1:02:12] movement if you have a neck injury you

[1:02:15] can also just inhale look to the left

[1:02:18] exhale look to the right please make any

[1:02:21] adjustments you

[1:20:01] and bring the right knee to the chest

[1:20:03] stretch the left leg out bring that

[1:20:06] right knee to the opposite side of the

[1:20:10] body and twist the

[1:20:13] spine bring the knees to the chest and

[1:20:16] rock up and down on the

[1:20:20] spine

[1:20:22] and come up into a sitting position

[1:20:37] all

[1:20:40] right we're going to practice this very

[1:20:44] beautiful

[1:20:45] meditation with the Mantra angang

[1:20:49] wuru

[1:20:51] and I like to think about it as the

[1:20:56] Lotus rising from the mud out into the

[1:21:00] sunlight and and our hands are going to

[1:21:02] be an extension of the flower petals

[1:21:05] petals so to

[1:21:08] speak so if you need to have some sort

[1:21:12] of support for your buttocks you can go

[1:21:15] ahead and do

[1:21:17] that

[1:21:19] um and just a word about the posture

[1:21:24] itself

[1:21:26] um when I practiced

[1:21:28] it um it was challenging to keep my arms

[1:21:32] up and after a few times of practicing

[1:21:38] it um I could

[1:21:40] feel the energy in the Mantra and my

[1:21:44] nervous system glandular system just

[1:21:47] there was like an energy that helped me

[1:21:49] to keep my hands up um but it could be

[1:21:54] very well

[1:21:56] challenging

[1:21:58] and it's great actually because it's a

[1:22:01] perfect opportunity we're going to be

[1:22:03] chanting angang wuru it's a perfect

[1:22:06] opportunity to call upon that energy of

[1:22:08] angang wuru to come to your Aid and your

[1:22:11] help now of course if you're physically

[1:22:14] unable to do it then please you know

[1:22:16] modify so the hands will be up when I'm

[1:22:20] calling 60° here like this and then

[1:22:24] forward a bit so you know when we do our

[1:22:27] ego Eradicator our hands up are up at

[1:22:31] 60° can you go ahead and

[1:22:34] demonstrate and then fingers are nice

[1:22:36] and spread and but then the arms are

[1:22:40] going to be forward slightly I guess

[1:22:43] about

[1:22:44] 30° and then we're going to be chanting

[1:22:47] so if your arms are just here it's a

[1:22:49] little bit different there's a more

[1:22:51] pressure of course now let's relax cuz

[1:22:54] we're going to we're going to get into

[1:22:56] it but there's going to be more pressure

[1:22:59] so you want to experience that pressure

[1:23:02] and what it will do on a physical level

[1:23:05] is get your glandular system and nervous

[1:23:07] system really flowing

[1:23:10] and if you're like me it's going to feel

[1:23:13] great afterwards and wonderful and

[1:23:17] beautiful and then if you're also like

[1:23:21] me it'll be a challenge and so I just

[1:23:24] ask you to call call upon the energy of

[1:23:26] the Mantra call upon anang wuru to keep

[1:23:30] your arms up and if your arms should go

[1:23:33] down no big deal you might see that here

[1:23:36] no big deal at all um just do your best

[1:23:40] okay all right so we're going to get the

[1:23:43] music going here and I'm going to ask

[1:23:46] you to please chant along with this

[1:23:49] track

[1:23:58] [Music]

[1:24:03] arms up into the position 60° fingers

[1:24:07] spread and have the arms slightly

[1:24:11] forward close the eyes you can focus at

[1:24:14] the third eye point and let's begin

[1:24:17] chanting chant it out

[1:24:19] [Music]

[1:24:36] heur

[1:24:39] [Music]

[1:25:01] feel rooted at the base of the

[1:29:48] complaints go into the

[1:29:50] Mantra into the what

Ang Sang Waaheguru means "In every cell and fiber and every limb is the miracle of the Divine." The mantra asserts that God's presence—the celebration and dance of the Divine—lives within every being and all of creation, and that recognizing this truth unites you with universal divine intelligence.
When a self-doubt arises ("I can't do this," "I'm a failure," "I'm afraid"), simply add the mantra: "I can't do this, but Ang Sang Waaheguru." This reframes the difficulty from an isolated personal failure into part of the universal flow, shifting the emotional weight and reconnecting you to divine presence.
No. Snatam Kaur explicitly invites practitioners to "pretend to believe" at first. Through consistent chanting and repetition, the intellectual pretense gradually becomes lived experience. The vibration and neurological impact of the practice build the conviction over time, not belief beforehand.
The practice is meant to be continuous—"a process of every breath." Ideally, chant daily, though even adding the mantra to moments of self-doubt throughout the day creates shifts. Consistency and repetition are what allow the consciousness to be embodied, not intensity or a single perfect session.
While the mantra originates in Sikhism, Snatam teaches it as a universal practice accessible to anyone. It requires no conversion or religious belief—only willingness to chant and notice how reconnecting to divine presence shifts your inner state and relationship to difficulty.
The aversion self is the mode of consciousness in which you contract into self-blame, shame, and self-doubt, feeling isolated and responsible for outcomes beyond your control. Ang Sang Waaheguru works to dissolve this by reconnecting you to the awareness that you are part of a unified divine flow, not alone.
In Kundalini Yoga, the body is not separate from consciousness. Holding specific postures while chanting anchors the mantra in the physical system, turning the abstract concept of "divine presence in every cell" into a tangible, felt experience throughout your nervous system.
